Verein K is proud to launch\u00a0Spring Curatorial Program<\/i>\u00a0in Vienna, Austria.
The first edition\u00a0Spring Curatorial Program 2020: Art Geographies<\/i>\u00a0is organized in collaboration between Verein K and the Institute for Art Theory and Cultural Studies* at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.\u00a0<\/p>

Up to 25 Austrian and international MA and PhD students, post-doctoral candidates, young researchers, artists and curators with an interdisciplinary background related to art, theory and\/or curatorial practice will get a chance to spend ten days in Vienna to have an intense exchange with renowned international artists, curators and theorists from\u00a020. to 29. April 2020<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>

Spring Curatorial Program 2020: Art Geographies<\/i>\u00a0focuses on issues of art, theory and politics dealing with borders, maps, myths, landscapes, territories, sound and other planetary phenomena of today\u2019s geographies. Based on possible modes of political subjectivation (the politics of belonging<\/i>) rather than another mode of (geo)political identification (the politics of identity<\/i>), the program\u00a0<\/i>explores\u00a0critical geographies shaped by geopolitical zones of discomfort.\u00a0Critical, decolonial, feminist and materialist\u00a0positions will be explored to answer questions about a possible social and techno-natural co-existence on our planet. Following these overlapping dimensions, the program presents various artistic, theoretical and curatorial practices to discuss possible planetary shifts.\u00a0<\/p>

Daily seminars, screenings, readings, lectures and discussions will take place at the Academy of Fine Arts and other locations across the city. A one-day excursion to Graz is also included in the program.\u00a0<\/p>

During\u00a0Spring Curatorial Program 2020: Art Geographies<\/i>, participants will get a chance to meet Antonia Alampi, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Charles Esche, Lana \u010cmaj\u010danin, Margareta Kern, Brandon LaBelle, Nata\u0161a Petre\u0161in-Bachelez, Jelena Petrovi\u0107, Red Min(e)d, Klaus Speidel, Madina Tlostanova, Fran\u00e7oise Verg\u00e8s, and others.<\/p>

Selection of the participants will consider the quality of the applications as well as gender balance and diversity. The program will take place in English. The participants will receive an attendance confirmation upon finishing the program.<\/p>

Program fee: EUR 250<\/p>

Note: For students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, there are ten places available free of charge.<\/p>
